Tooling BearMan Style: A Contrast in Carving Subjects

Tooling BearMan Style: A Contrast in Carving Subjects

This two day workshop you will learn the “BearMan Realistic Leaves” tooling process and “Nature Colors” dye process from instructor Ed LaBarre. Students will be lead in learning how to tool and sculpt leaves in a much more realistic way to add a natural element to a number of projects.

Students will be able to choose the subject matter to tool—either a standing bear design with Oak leaves & acorns or an appliquéd butterfly with Oak leaves & acorns.. The finished panel is ideally suited for a book or notebook cover.

The first day will be devoted to carving the pattern chosen, with the second day used to color the entire project following the “Nature Colors” process using Ed’s “BearDye” and Angelus dyes.

Come join The BearMan for a fun, informative & comprehensive workshop and go home with techniques to inspire future projects and learning opportunities.
