American Bison Handbag Course

American Bison Handbag Course

Join Annie Margarita for a quick-paced, one day class to create a handbag or possible with a carved & colored American bison motif. The American Bison, a powerful symbol of the West, will be embellished with fringe and braiding, and each student will complete & take home a small, unlined handbag after practicing new techniques in design & construction. Students will have the opportunity to choose color combinations, select different leathers and finish types. Annie is a master at pictorial carving & painting, but even better she can lead students to complete those complex designs in leather. Expect to learn basic and intermediate carving techniques, staining and painting of the leather, three & four strand braiding and finally completing the bag with hand-stitching. Annie will offer pattern-making & structural advice to students along the way & always encourages artistic expression!
