Bespoke Leather Jacket Lecture

150.00

Instructor Julie Pierce is a lot of information to impart regarding the creation of bespoke leather clothing. She has created leather jackets, chaps and many other garments from leather and will share that wealth of information with students in this lecture course. Additionally, Julie has created an extensive outline for this workshop, designed to walk you through the entire process of creating a perfectly tailored leather jacket.

Students will receive Julie’s Worksheet, developed to get all the important measurements correct, and tips to successfully conducting a design consultation with your customer. She’ll discuss pattern development, how to make a mock-up, check for fit, create a final pattern. Students will also come away with detailed information including sourcing materials, cutting the leather and finally, construction.

Additionally, there will be tips on pricing and sewing machines. Students will also pair up with someone in the class to practice taking measurements using Julie’s proven methods.

Participants should have a basic understanding of sewing machine operation, garment construction, and fitting; though specific skills are not required for this lecture class. Everyone is welcome!
