In this class, you will be learning about leather inlay and how to get the best results. We will focus a lot of our attention on the necessity of skiving and we will spend a lot of time doing it! Leandra will show you how to get that nice, “puffy” look and how to operate the roller foot sewing machine. Since a good deal of Leandra’s inlay work involves adding clients’ initials to a custom leather piece, we will focus on lettering in this workshop. Each student will be given materials to practice with. 

What to Bring:

• Stone or glass surface to skive on

• Small cutting mat

• Pen or pencil

• Skiving knife

• Scalpels-will be provided if you don’t have your own.
