Time: Full-Day, 9:00am – 5:00pm (both days)
Room: 7
NOTE: THIS IS A TWO-DAY CLASS
All Skill Levels Welcome
In this rare two-day workshop, you'll work side-by-side with master craftsman Gordon Andrus to build a functional and horse-safe pair of cinch safes from start to finish. Designed to shield cinch hardware from sweat and wear, these leather pieces require precision, craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of construction—and Gordon will guide you through it all.
You'll begin with an in-depth hand-stitching refresher, including Gordon’s method for tying hidden knots and using pricking irons and properly sharpened awls. Then, you’ll move into hands-on work: patterning, molding, stamping, stitching, and finishing the safes using pre-cut leather pieces and traditional techniques. By the end of day two, you’ll walk away with a finished pair of cinch safes and the skills to make more with confidence.
Included in Class Fee:
Cinch Safe Kit (pre-cut leather, stitching supplies, wax, patterns, instructions, and jig plans)
